Earlier in August, I went to Martha's Vineyard for a weekend. It's one of my favorite places in the world. It's quaint, peaceful and good for the soul. Salty air, salty water... it's so relaxing and refreshing.
Speaking of what is good for the soul... I found out the Soul Cycle had their destination location there, during the time I was going to be on the island. I'm already a huge Soul Cycle fan. So when I heard that there was a pop-up shop I was so excited to try it.
I signed up for Sunny Mae's class. Apparently she is from Washington D.C and was teaching on the island for a couple weeks. Now I've only taken Soul in Boston and I love the instructors there (shout out to Maddie and Erin). I heard there are different styles depending on the region. I was a little nervous. After all, a destination soul class is more money... but they bring in the best of the best instructors and want you to feel like you earned that ride.
I got to the pop up shop before class and apparently Michelle Obama had just taken a class right before mine. It was packed. People were getting out of class with smiles and a ton of sweat. I began to get more excited.
Sunny Mae was incredible. She pushed us and took us through a soul rejuvenating journey. I absolutely loved it! It was one of the most challenging classes I had ever taken. I felt proud of myself afterwards. More importantly, I was happy and felt like I was ready to conquer the day.
For those who have never tried soul before, it's a must. Especially if you're a morning person. One of the best experiences is to get up early, take a soul class and literally seize the day. You'll see, jus try it.
For the "advanced riders" who already know what the deal is with soul...here's the difference when you go to a destination class:
What You Get:
I mentioned the class is more money...so what do you get?
-Don't worry about bringing your cycling shoes with you - Soul Cycle Destination provides you complimentary service here!
-Still get towels - I suggest you grab two because you'll be soaked.
-Unlimited SmartWater - SmartWater partnered with Soul Cycle on this and they provide as much water as you want.
-Opportunity to grab some swag! Retail section is on fire. People were going to town on their exclusive MVYD gear. SmartWater gave away cute chapsticks for free too (even had SPF).
What You Don't Get:
-Showers...yikes it gets hot in there. But totally worth it
-Disappointment - you won't get that by trying Soul Cycle's Destination Class.
